June 2010 the school received the Quality Mark for MOVE – only the 5th school in Europe to achieve this mark. It celebrates the work we do to encourage mobility in pupils with physical disabilities through the MOVE programme.
Lakeside is the first school in thr UK - econd in the world - to be awarded a Certificate Of Commendation form the Intensive Interaction Institute. Pauline Tofts is honoured as practitioner of the Year
The school was awarded the Healthy Schools Standard in 2003 which recognises the school as a healthy place to learn and to work. This considers both the emotional and physical well being of staff and students.
The standard was maintained and recognised in 2004. The school undertook re-recognition under the new standards in 2007 and was again successful.
In June 2010 Liz Paisley won the Eastern Region Teacher of the Year Award for Enterprise. Jane Rusch won a commendation in the Primary Teacher of the Year category and also won the GTC Carol Adam's Memorial Award for Professional Development, Equalities and Diversity.These are individual awards that reflect the quality of the work of the team.
The school was given a School Achievement Award for Excellence for 2000/2001, the year in which we had our Ofsted Report, followed up by a range of other successful activities designed to promote the education of the pupils. This award allows the school to use the logo seen above. We are very proud of this award which reflects the hard work and dedication of the whole school staff.
