New Look Governing Body

March 30, 2015 at 9:50 AM

Following the retirement of Richard Edlin and Steve Rata after many years of service we have recruited two new co-opted governors  from the local community.

Mr Eric Diment  - co-opted governor

Eric has retired after 30 years as a senior police officer in London. He has chaired various organisational bodies at work. He has been actively involved in his local Golf Club and been Club Captain twice in recent years. He developed the junior section of the club. Eric is keen now to give time to support the school as governor.

Mr Michael Scutt  - co-opted governor

Michael has over twenty years’ experience as a solicitor in private practice, and will bring a knowledge of employment law to the governing body.

Michael has been on the committee of Headway North Herts, and has sat on the PCC of St Francis Church in WGC. He is currently Secretary of the Welwyn Hatfield Chamber of Commerce.

Andre Heymoz was a stalwart of the governing body for many years as a parent governor. He has also had to retire form this post and following an election we appointed a replacement.

Mrs Cindy Primarolo – parent governor

Cindy’s son is now in NC3 and she has been a parent at the school for eight years.

She feels that Lakeside staff and parents are the most fantastic, embracing support network and she now wants to give something back.

She lives locally and is  mother of 4 children.  She has  been a volunteer with face2face, which supports families trying to come to terms with a diagnosis or who are fcing difficulties with their children's disability. Cindy has a level 2 in counselling skills and has run her my own business.

Pauline Tofts has been one of our staff governors and when her term of office came to an end she decided to allow someone else the chance to take on the is role and Karen took up the challenge

Ms Karen Dinnage - staff Governor

Karen has been a teaching assistant at Lakeside for years. She has had several different roles in school but has now found her ideal job working in the Sensory Zone supporting our pupils with the most complex needs. Karen loves the new technologies that can empower our pupils and she is leading on the work with our Eye Gaze technology. Among all the training Karen has undertaken, she has recently completed the Elklan training – in order to support early communication skills and is trained in Rebound therapy to help pupils with their motor development.
