"Our daughter has made great progress at Lakeside due to the expertise of the teachers and autism team. Our home life has become far more manageable as a result." Parent
Support For Families
The family support team's aim is to build and maintain relationships with parents and carers to provide individualised strategies, and visual support to help keep things consistent between home and school.
We can offer regular telephone calls and face to face meetings, as well as outreach support in the home and other settings.
We organise coffee mornings and social evenings for parents and carers to meet each other. Guest speakers are invited to talk regarding their specialised subject or experiences. We also run workshops for parents on various subjects linked to toileting, feeding, behaviour and learning.
Lucy, as Family Support Worker can help signpost and advise any additional services available for families.
To get in touch with Lucy, please email: mcmillan_lucy@lakeside.herts.sch.uk or call 01707 327410
