ASSESSMENTS AT LAKESIDE SCHOOL
The Deputy Head Teacher is the assessment lead at Lakeside. Lynne is an active member of SSMAG - the "Special Schools Moderation and Assessment Group" which is an Eastern region partnership. Through this group we have the opportunity for moderation to ensure the quality of our judgements and to ensure we are always well informed on all issues surrounding assessment. Our response to the latest government initiatives in assessments are made in agreement with SSMAG.
The school uses a data collection package in order to analyse pupil progress.
Our assessment procedures start with all pupils being baselined within 6 weeks of starting school. Parents are then invited to an initial target setting meeting within 8 weeks. The Education Health Care Plan outcomes and any previous targets will inform this meeting. Education Healthcare plan meetings will then be held once a year.
We carry out the following assessments in order to inform EHCP targets:
EYFS - Early Years Foundation Stage (All Primary Pupils)
Lakeside Steps (All Pupils)
Routes for Learning (For Children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
SCERTS - Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, Trans-active Support (For Pupils with Autism)
Engagement Scale (All Pupils)
